Transition seamlessly from the controlled environment of the gym to the raw, exhilarating adventure lead climbing outdoors. This isn't just a course; it's a power-packed, one day immersion designed for the experienced indoor lead climber eager to confidently tackle the diverse challenges of the outdoor crag.  We will bridge the gap between plastics and stone, equipping you with the essential knowledge and skills to safely climb outside.  

Over this intensive day you will;

• Effortlessly transition your lead skills: Learn the crucial differences between indoor and outdoor lead climbing techniques. 

• Build bomber anchors: learn to build safe, redundant, and reliable anchors for sport lead and top roping outdoors. 

• Master the ninja moves of route cleaning: learn simple, efficient and safe techniques for retrieving your gear 

• Explore outdoor considerations:  go in depth into outdoor specifics from bolting and access issues, to identifying and managing inherent hazards & risks. 

• Level-up your movement skills:  Get personalized coaching and feedback to optimize your climbing and discover how to flow up real rock.

Unleash your inner adventurer and start lead climbing outdoors!  Over this two day intensive and hands-on course, you will master all the crucial lead climbing skills to take you from top roping indoors to lead climbing outside. Discover a more challenging and rewarding realm of climbing and unlock a lifetime of adventure on the sharp end. 

We will equip you with the knowledge and practical experience to confidently;

• Master the dynamic lead belay: Learn the nuanced techniques to safely and effectively manage the rope for a lead climbing using both the Grigri and ATC

• Unlock the secrets of clipping: develop efficient and secure clipping techniques to minimize risk and maximize flow

• Understand your gear:  learn about the equipment we trust and how to assess your gear to ensure it's safe over time and every time you leave the ground. 

• Explore outdoor considerations:  go in depth into outdoor specifics from bolting and access, to hazards & risk management and how to read topos

• Build bomber anchors: learn to build safe, redundant, and reliable anchors for sport lead and top roping outdoors. 

• Level-up your movement skills:  Get personalized coaching and feedback to optimize your climbing and discover how to flow up real rock. 

• Conquer the Lead Belay Test : gain the skills and understanding necessary to pass an indoor lead test with flying colors

To get the most out of this program, participants should be able to top rope 5.8 comfortably. Some top roping experience outdoors is recommended.

ACMG certified guide, outdoor climbing equipment, personal climbing equipment (if required)

Booking Confirmation and Itinerary

After registering for a course or completing a custom booking request you will receive an email confirmation and an itinerary for the course.  A pre-trip emailed will be sent 2-3 days prior to the course/confirmed booking date to confirm location, meeting place and time, and any weather or conditions considerations.

Transportation

Guests are responsible for their own transportation to and from the trip location.

Weather and Cancellation Policy

All programs will run as scheduled unless weather conditions are deemed to be a risk to the group. Participants should pack appropriate clothing for all possible weather conditions and for extended time outdoors.
