Learn the techniques for single pitch crack climbing and get hands-on experience practicing placing and assessing trad gear in this single day traditional climbing course. To get the most out of this program, participants should have some outdoor lead experience.
Equipment considerations; taping, the Rockies Standard Rack, and preparing for your multi pitch climb
Gear: placing and assessing natural, passive & active protection
Techniques for cracks; jamming, resting, and mental skills
Building trad anchors and natural anchor systems
Rope management; traverses, reducing drag, protecting the second
Includes
ACMG certified guide, outdoor climbing equipment, personal climbing equipment (if required)
Booking Confirmation and Itinerary
After registering for a course or completing a custom booking request you will receive an email confirmation and an itinerary for the course. A pre-trip emailed will be sent 2-3 days prior to the course booking date to confirm location, meeting place and time, and any weather or conditions considerations.
Transportation
Guests are responsible for their own transportation to and from the trip location.
Weather and Cancellation Policy
All programs will run as scheduled unless weather conditions are deemed to be a risk to the group. Participants are responsible for packing appropriate clothing for all possible weather conditions and for extended time outdoors. In the case of a booking being rescheduled, your requested ‘next best date’ will be used.
